Highlighted Videos

Throughout my three years at UCTV Sports, I’ve recapped sports such as swimming and diving, basketball, and ice hockey. Some of them have gathered thousands of views– while others, not so much. Regardless of the sport or number of views, I put the same professional eye to each event to create the best content possible for the viewers.

At UCTV Sports, I’ve had the opportunity to learn technical skills such as Adobe Premiere, Illustrator, and Photoshop, and Canva. I was able to hone in on Adobe Premiere, making my workflow much faster as I edited more videos. I also had the opportunity to use Illustrator to edit pre-made templates. Likewise on Canva, UCTV had pre-made thumbnails for basketball and hockey but for soccer, field hockey, lacrosse, and baseball and softball, it was up to the videographer and reporter to collaborate on a final thumbnail.

This page showcases three videos I filmed and edited to produce a high quality result. I believe they show my skills in editing, filming, working with lighting, and audio at my best. Next to each video feel free to read the small summary on the process of filming, editing, and producing that video.

At the bottom of this page are more videos I edited and produced for UCTV Sports.

Women’s Basketball Defeats Kutztown in Exhibition Game
Published on Nov. 6, 2022

Although an exhibition game, UCTV Sports tries to film every men’s and women’s basketball game as we understand the popularity of the sport at UConn.

I was tasked with filming and editing the video, while my colleague had to recap the game. We arrived at the XL Center two hours prior to the game so we could get good spots on the court and in the press room.

We also filmed “stand-up videos” which include getting vertical video content for social media. These include interviews from the fans in the audience, any exciting on court plays, and or reactions from players that might stand out to a fan.

Once the game ended, we stayed to record the post-game press conference and any finishing touches for the video.

The video received over 10,000 views and 100 likes.

Men’s Basketball Soars Past Marquette
Published on Feb. 8, 2022

I was tasked with filming and editing this video.

The men’s basketball team was on a losing streak, so the outcome of the game was questionable. However, the Huskies proved their ability to fight back.

One of the most notable aspects of the game was the crowd’s reaction. Once the Huskies began showing their dominance, I took every opportunity to film bench, coach, and crowd to show the atmosphere of the game.

My colleague and I stayed after the game to film the post-game press conference and the stand-up recap of the game.

Because it was such an exciting game, we got back to the studio to edit right away and published it early the next day.

Men’s Soccer falls to Georgetown on their Senior Night
Published on Nov. 3, 2022

I was tasked with filming and editing this video.

In the first half, I set up my camera in the stands, but in the second half I was allowed to move to the pitch. Doing this helps to try new angles and provide more diversity to the video.

Unfortunately the Huskies lost this game. It is always difficult reporting on losses for the reporter and the videographer. In this case, we weren’t allowed to get interviews with the coach or the players. However, since it was senior night, we had a lot of material to work with.
